Why other downloaders give you 360p

Above 360p, YouTube and most platforms serve video and audio as two separate streams. To hand you a normal file, a downloader has to merge them back together with ffmpeg.

That merge takes roughly a tenth of a second, but it costs CPU on every download, so ad-funded sites skip it. That is why you get a 360p file, or a 1080p file with no sound.

We run the merge every time.

What it does and does not do

• Public videos only. Private accounts and login-gated videos will not work, here or anywhere.
• Clips up to 180 seconds. This is a short-form tool, which is how it stays fast and free of ads.
• One video at a time. No playlists, no channels, no bulk.
• Nothing is stored. Files are deleted from the server minutes after you download them.
• No account, no email, no tracking.
